Hello all,
Been a while since i've been on but i am thinking about some more upgrades to the ol' girl.

Here's a little history on the boat.
-1966 starcraft holiday 18ft
-1966 mercruiser 110 hp w/ mercruiser mc-1abc
-new seats
-new floor, carpet
-new foam under floor
-front mounted gas tank

I want to change my side mount control box from a single lever box to a dual lever control box. Has anyone ever done this and what was used? also, i see that many of the aftermarket control boxes have certain kits for certain cables. What kinda cables were used on these boats?

The reason i am wanting to convert to a dual stick control box is due to my wanting to be able to control throttle and shifter independently. i feel i will have more control over operations.

My research for dual stick controls have reulted in this find, will this work?

Suitable for all outboard engines

Ayuh,.... The above is from yer link,....

With yer 1ABC, ya really oughta just be Happy it's still runnin',......
Worry 'bout changin' things when it no longer runs,...

Parts, 'n knowledge 'bout those drives are few, 'n far between,....

Insteada blowin' money of different controls, find yerself a rotten donor boat with a 3.0l/ Alpha 1, or even a Gen.II now-a-days,...
The Gen.II is 15 years old next year,...
The hulls they're in are startin' to rot out, 'n get cheaper,...
