Hey folks, I have a 1984 Yamaha 200hp(200AETO)25in. My lower unit has a chipped cavitation plate plus leaking seals. Which other year model lower units will adapt to the '84 casting and bolt pattern? My options are to do a re-seal/weld job to the current LU or find a used/rebuilt one. Just want to know the search perameters for the other year models that will bolt up to the '84. Thanks.

Any of the 2.6 liter cases will bolt up with no problem. Except for the PRo-V 150, Pro-V 200, Excell and V-6 special, the gear ratio should also be the same.

Thanks for the info,Ray. I'll be looking around for a nice used LU from any 2.6 liter.

just make sure the shaft length is correct and you use the correct water pump assy for the case used, the 95 up cases use a different pump assy than the earlier versions and the latest(A3) kits require a new housing from 95-97.<br /> the insert locating tabs changed and the ealier housings dont have the tab holes in the correct spot. the old ones can be modified but at 28 buxs I just replace them
