Great site you have here. I completed my casting deck for my Maxum 1800 Open Bow boat. I plan to attach a bow mount trolling motor and wanted to be able to fish from a deck. After a couple of weeks of research on this site, I came across bear_69cuda's post. You helped me out so much...thank you.
I was looking at something just like this. All and all it cost less than a hundred bucks for the wood, wood treatment, carpet, and carpet glue.
My next step is to place two trolling motor batteries underneath the deck. I have a couple of questions that I thought you guys might be able to help me out with.
1. I plan to use battery boxes for the batteries. Does anyone know if there is a battery box out on the market that will hold two batteries in one box?
2. I only have approximatley 12" from the bottom of the boat to the deck...not much room. I may have to raise the deck an inch or two. Does anyone know of some rubber standoffs or perhaps furniture levels that may work to raise the deck up some? I want to make sure that I use some type of rubber to protect the boat.
