Going to do a compression check 90HP 92 Force

what is the best way to ground the spark plug wires to the block? Can I leave the spark plugs connected to the wires but jsut have them touching the block? Any place to avoid grounding them?

Do I have to hand crank the motor 4-5 times or can I just turn the key breifly?

Re: compression check

Wires connected with tips touching ground is fine. Auto stores sell a spark plug tester that makes it a lot easier. What you want to do is warm the engine up to operating temp if you can then crank three or four times on each cylinder with compression tester. When you test you want all the plugs out not just the cylinder your testing. Use the electric start instead of cranking by hand

Also if your compression tester has extension pieces make sure the threaded piece you use is small enough so the piston does not hit it when you get to top dead center
