Compression quick Q

I'm about to test the Comression on my motor. How much pressure should be present and is there anything else I should look for? Its a 85 Evinrude 25hp.

Pressure is not as important as making sure all cylinders are within a close range of each other...generally 10% or so.

I would warm it up first and then take reading. Don't worry about opening throttle. Specific directions are in the top secret file at top of forum.

big difference in rope start and electric start.
