Compression #'s

Curious, what should the compression on my 91' Evinrude 60hp have been when new? On a cold engine I'm getting identical 125psi readings. Also, shouldn't the compression be taken with the engine warm for accurate #'s? I understand if you're checking on a non running engine you're looking for consistency across each cylinder, but is a compression check on a cold motor the same as checking when one is warmed up?

Thanks,
Maury

Re: Compression #'s

Your compression looks fine. Weither it's hot or cold there should be no more than 15 psi between cyls.

GOod chance it would have been about 125 when new. Sadly, your junky old motor is in perfect condition, someone took good care of it, and you're probably not going to have any fun getting to work on it.... ;)
