Who makes a quality one w/o spending a fortune(famous last words)..Lol I was going to test it's accuracy, a Craftsman I've had for many, many years, on my regulated air compressor and dropped it on cement. It's now shot. Won't zero out and starts at around 40#s.

Thanks,

Geezzeee. Sorry to hear of your loss. I use a Napa tester, It lasted about 10 years, the started leaking down. I changed the valve, same issue. The coupler is impossible to get apart to change the rubber gasket, so I put some silglide on the gasket, and let it sit for a week. Works great again. I have to remember to not leave it in the tool box with the coupler hooked up, that's what caused the rubber gasket to take a "set".

OTC makes quality tools. Much higher quality than craftsman. My craftsman has drifted over the years, to a 10 psi offset.

I bought mine at autozone for about $20. It has always worked great and been easy to use.

I have an Actron kit. It has everything you need for different plug sizes.

I think I'm going to give the OTC that I mentioned above a try. It goes down to 10mm, which is what I need now and comes in a hard case........

Thanks for the suggestions....

Looks like it got pretty good reviews from both Summit and Amazon. If I didn't have one, that looks like a good one to me. As long as it isn't 50psi off, it should work reasonably well. JMHO!

If you only use it on occasion you might consider getting a loaner tool from most major auto supply houses such as auto-zone or advanced. The loaner tools are free for you to use.

The closest auto store is 25 miles away. I have plenty of engines, so it will get used. Not all the time, but it will be as close as my toolbox when I do need it.......

Having good tools on hand is never bad even if you don't use them that often it comes down to weather you value having the tools on hand or not. I know I much rather have it around than have to go 30 min to pic a free one up. The cost in gas over time is not worth it.

I like keeping tools on hand too. Except some very specific tools I have everything I need. I also have a large compressor and all the tools for that. There have been times that I used the loan a tool but only very expensive stuff that I may only use once.
