Just a square box that jumps up every time I hit a key, (only on this chat room), that is about 4" accross, and 3" high that says ,"An error has occured on this page", In the middle, it says "Syntax Error". then at the bottom it asks me if I want to continue running script on this page, Thats all it says.

It goes away untill I hit another key and then comes back instantly, I click it off, type one letter and it comes back, I click it off and it comes back, I click it off and it comes back, Its like the eveready bunny, It just keeps comeing back.

Ive rebooted, ran two different pc cleaning programs, but nothing will stop it. It only happens on this one chat room.

LubeDude,

Go to windowsupdate.microsoft.com. Intall ALL of the updates it says. This may require rebooting and then going back to the website and installing more.

This will update Internet Explorer on your computer and also install security patches.

Chances are that you're just running an old version of Internet Explorer and this will update it for you.

Good luck!

All you need to do is:

In Internet Explorer, goto to Tools on the menu at the top, choose Internet Options, Advanced tab. About six from the top is a box for Disable Script Debugging. Make sure that is checked and you won't see those errors any longer.

The errors are problems with the web page, not anything on your PC.

Re: Computer, Script error

Well, after running all the programs, updating everything and following all advice, generally giving my computer at work a clean bill of health, nothing helped.

However, now that I go back to the site today, everything is fine. Must have been some kind of a problem with the site.

Anyway, thanks everyone with all the help. Dont ya just love modern techknoledgy? O well, I did Maintenance that needed to be done anyway.

Well I've been getting the same thing but only after installing Pop-Up Stopper.
I know when reading adds from Harbor Freight etc I need to shut it off.
Could it be as simple as that??

Link

Re: Computer, Script error

Lubedude, did you do what jajeeper said to do? That was the only thing needed to fix a problem like this. It is a problem with website coding, not with your PC. They may have fixed it on their site, but you'll run into other sites that will cause the same problem, unless you have applied what jajeeper said. :)

Take it from me, I make my living fooling around with computer stuff.
