I recently had a 383 stroker built by an engine shop for my 21 scarab...they used vortec heads in the motor so i couldnt use my old cast iron intake...they put a edelbrock marine aluminum intake with bronze lined water jackets on ..i am noticing way more condensation from breathers...they said to go up to a 160 thermostat instead of my 140 to let oil heat up more to burn off condensation is this going to be ok is it even going to allow oil to heat up enough to burn condensation off? or should i deal with it some other way

condensation or blow-by? condensation means something is allowing water to get into the oil.

45 hours on it...i boat in central maine usually kennebec river its tidal water fresh where i put in but i go to ocean a lot however i pull my boat everytime it has its own spot in my garage =)....i am having other issues too...i put a brand new 600 edlebrock on it and the guy tuned it....ran great for like 5-6 trips then it started acting up spraying fuel out of primary boosters at an idle...he took it apart and floats were way too high he never checked em cause its supposed to bet set at factory...so we just got it back on and it stopped doing that but its not idling that good a little rough...we changed plugs and nothing different. . So we checked plugs and number 5 has almost like rusty golden color to it...a few others have a very slight bit of the same up inside the plug...i put brand new elbows and manifolds on it last year oem mercruiser ones.....and the spacers looked fine.....all we can think is maybe some gasket may of went bad on them or something maybe....no water sitting in cylinders though... its a 21' wellcraft scarab one thru hull ech and stuff..got a alpha one ss on it.. the motor was built by a reputable local engine shop...about 5200$ in motor before i bought manifolds...everything was new except oil pan timing cover and windage tray...seasoned block first boring..all tested and stuff even dyno'd at 375 hp 460 ft lbs

The puzzling thing is a plug or two on the other side has very minute signs of the same stuff......i cant imagine the odds of having brand new gaskets manifolds and elbows on both sides go at same time are very good.....

And on the topic of the condensation i believe it is being caused by the aluminum intake because aluminum transfers heat faster and more efficiently i think it gets condensation from the cool water passing thru it...its most noticeable idling after a run on plane..

Butler macmaster in hallowell a little up the river..elec choke and temp never goes above 150-155 at the highest usually....i took the manifolds off as one piece last night both sides somehow have some water...not enough leakage to fill cylinders but i think it was sucking some in when running...in process now of testing cooling system with air and then going to make a plug and stuff to test manifolds before i remove spacers and elbows... cant imagine with new manifolds and elbows something is leaking...maybe the gaskets went bad...
