Hi All,

I have another post on this boat in relation to the possiblity of the foam being water logs...got allot of good advice.

Now I am going to have it weighed, however I am not sure I am reading the specs right. The boat is a 1993 Sunbird Corsair SS with a 1993 Evinrude 115.

Iboats specs and NADA specs show the boat being 1490. My guess this is without the motor, which is another 306 lbs.

Does this sound right to everyone? I guess I was surprised at the weight of the boat, I thought it would be about 1500 with the motor, thinking the boat itself is only 16/5 feet long.

EZ loader customer service was very good by the way, they told me the weight of the trailer from the VIN number, 590lbs.

I want to get the boat weighed to confirm if its holding water.

Thanks again Iboaters!

Don't forget to add the weight of non-standard equipment and gear, too...anything that wasn't in the boat when it came from the factory. Battery, fuel, accessories. You could easily come up with 100 lb. or more from that alone.

The weight is indeed without the motor. Boats with an I/O or inboard have the engine weights included on NADA.

Re: Confirming the weight of a used boat - UPDATE

Hi All,

Here is an update on this, I got the boat weighed:

It came in at 2580 lbs with no battery, unsure of the fuel tank. The public scale person said they are within 20 LBS.

NADA and I boats list the following:

1993 Sunbird 1490 lbs.
1993 Evin/115 306 lbs.
1993 Ez Loader 590 lbs

Total 2386 lbs.

Estimated extras

Spare Tire/mount 50 lbs (guess)
10 gallons of gas 60 lbs (guess)
Ancor 20 lbs (guess)

Total 2516 lbs

Difference 64 lbs

I am thinking I am OK with this, what do you guys think.

Thanks

Add the weight of the battery, and you're right on. Doesn't sound like you have waterlogged foam in there. Go boating!
