Someone said you will not get much water out of the power head when running on muffs, someone also said you should be getting alot due to the fact that the water is being forced in. On muffs I get a spray of water not a stream. I'm going to pull off my trim tabs and fill up a garbage can to see if I get any different results. The guy I bought the boat from said the impeller was just changed by a dealer. We'll soon find out I guess. Any comments?

I assume that this is a Force engine? I had a 90HP and now a 125Hp and neither of them have much coming out of the holes in the back of the engine when run with muffs. As soon as you put them in the water it is a totally different story. I don't know if this helps or not.

Yep, not much coming out on muffs, but there should be a good amount coming out in idle, in the water. I've seen that from experience as well as seeing it posted here a lot.

True-- that is why you don't want to rev it up very much on muffs--

I had the same problem with my 88 125. I removed the face plate and removed the WAH-WHA tube, it was melted and restricting the h20 flow. A word of caution if you remove the face plate do it bottom first as there are two locating studs,if you pry from top down you may break then. Good time to check the condishion of the rubber boot conecting motor to pee holes.

Don't do anything but this SIMPLE test. The exhaust/water comes out in two places. The twin holes in the upper, and the triangular fin type deal on the lower. Running on muffs (watch your damn hands and make sure out of gear-put a 2x4 wedged above a prop blade if you must)...take a rag soaked in cold water(its gonna heat up fast), and cover up the lower fin where the exhaust and water are coming out. The top twin holes will shoot double+water out now. The water pressure in the water does the same thing. You have no problem.... I only get a dribble on muffs.

Safety rule number 1 for running an engine on muffs, Always remove the prop and barracade the prop shaft to prevent pants leg from becoming entangled.
