Confused on prop....

Ok I just got my boat running decent. Had troubles with the ignition. But thats all good now. I currently have a 15 degree prop and I noticed that when I go WOT it takes the boat a while to get up to speed. I have tried trimming the motor but it doesn't seem to help any and my speedo says my top speed was 30 mph. I don't know what rpm it's running at as it doesn't have a tach. Would changing the prop help with getting up to speed fast and would it up my top speed any? It's on an 86 Bayliner capri cuddy cabin with an 86 force 125.

I would expect that to be the right prop for that boat. Make sure the powerhead is working fully. Kinda sounds like it's running on three out of four.

You really don't want to change pitch until you know what RPM's you are running. Try to borrow one from the local marina or ask one of their tech's to take a short ride with you to check the rpm's. The few dollars it would cost are well worth not over revving your motor.
