hey!!! i am the new, proud father of a 280 pound, 20" shaft, 2 stroke, 115hp baby boy! his name is killer. we just brought him home tonight!<br /><br />he is sleeping on a stand in the garage! shhhh. dont wake him, he is really loud once he gets going! <br /><br />and boy is he hungry!~!!! easily drinking down 12 gallons of milk at WOT<br /><br />seriously<br /><br />i just bought a 1976 johnson 115 20incher for $175 from a business friend. it runs strong, has even compression but no tilt or trim, or prop, or controls. heck, i dont even have a boat to put him on. he is way too big for my 16footer center console(maybe,he he )i am using a 90hp 3cyl merc now, same weight though, so whats the difference. iknow iknow...jeeze<br /><br />ok, so here is the deal, what should i look out for. the only other v4 i even had was a 1970 85hp with 3 button shifting. i have 8 other outboards and 3 of them are omc .<br /><br />is this the 60 degree or the 90 degree?<br /><br />if anybody reading this has the same or close motor on a 16 foot or close boat, please tell me about setup; prop, setback, jack plate, etc if possibe.<br /><br />thanks a billion.<br /><br />have a cigar,<br /><br />mike

90 deg.,99 cube...good engine, mike.<br />put a set of QL82C's in'er and have fun! <br />You already know 'bout that waterpump thing and so on......

Congrats, I see you'r seriously bit by the outboard flue !! I've got 9 outboards for myselves, but only 2 boats, one for my 115 and a dighny for a 4 HP. I'm not sure why I have the others, from which some even are projects. Problem is I like them ?? Guess a man has to have something. Good luck, more will come.

i got the same feeling i have an evi - 115hp 1990<br /> evi - 110hp 1989<br /> evi - 50hp 1974<br /> evi - 15hp 1984<br /> merc- 90hp 1978<br /><br />my wife doesnt understand the relationship i have with these machines.<br />guess most women never will.<br /><br />good luck with you projects<br /><br />reeldutch

Surely the 175 bucks won't keep the Children from college.....if it does, chances are they were meant to be marine techs anyway..... <br />somehow, I see "you might be a red-neck if...." in this somewhere.....
