I removed my "T", schedule 80, PVC fitting (gray in color), that ran to the macerator for overboard discharge. I now just want to connect the two hoses where the "T" had been and simply use just the pump out option. The "T" fitting was 1 1/2 inches. I bought a schedule 80 (gray in color) coupling connector 1 1/2 inches. Is there a trick to getting the flexible hose over and around the PVC fitting? It is hell!!! I went out and bought a sink tail piece, regular white PVC, schedule 40, fitting that will fit a little looser and is not right, but may have to do and will probably be fine once I tighten a couple hose clamps around it. If I can't figure out the trick then the white PVC will have to suffice, but I'd like to use the same type stuff that was origainlly in there and probably code. I tried vaseline and heating it with a lighter, to no avail. any suggestions? thanks.
