Connecting tach/other accessories to 84 9.9 yamaha

Hello everyone!<br /><br />I recently acquired a 1984 Yamaha 9.9SN outboard. I would like to find out what the 2 loose green wires are and if with this motor I can hook up a tach and/or run nav lights from it.<br /><br />Thanks!<br /><br />Rob

with the proper kits, yes.<br /> the two green wires are for AC lighting. with a rectifier kit you can charge a battery and run a tach.

Thanks for responding rodbolt! Should I spend the money and buy the parts from Yamaha or would you think there is a kit from radio shack or other electronic store for the rectifier kit. The AC lighting is that with low voltage like lawn lights or closer to 110V (will check with voltmeter). Thanks Again!<br /><br />Rob
