New here, thanks for all the help!

Johnson 60, 2 stroke from the 80's

Sunday, headed out on the boat, in gear just moving at idle speed for a few minutes, then throttle up and bam, nothing, thought I heard a snap/pop.

Any way, finally got the box open and discovered that a screw broke that attaches eventually to the choke lever/throttle. Headed to the machine shop tomorrow to get fixed.

While in he process of determining the problem, I started the engine to check and see if the marine engine fairy had fixed the problem! The engine was idling high, and I had to shift f/r a couple of times, not too nice!! Got to dock and shut off.

Could I have created a bigger problem? Couldnt get it to start today, but I had been messing with the throttle and choke a bit, might have flooded.

Thoughts??
