Hey all!

I have an interesting request for you. I want pics of your boat's console for design ideas!

Here's a little more detail...

I bought an older model tri hull about a year ago with dreams of someday restoring it. After I bought it I discovered the deck was rotten in a few places. After pulling the deck, I found the stringers were rotted, mostly removed, and replaced with pressure treated lumber that was not attached, glassed, or sealed. My plans to restore her have been moved up quite a bit!

So, now that she's in mid restoration, I'm considering cutting out the old console. She has a typical single console bass boat layout. The business side of the console is too small to add very much with regard to instruments or switches. The back side of the console is huge. It tapers down to the floor wasting space in front of the console and is rounded on top so you can't do much with it like adding a windshield.

I want to replace it with something that is more functional for the driver and makes for a better use of space in the bow.

Would you guys mind posting pics of your console for the sake of sharing design ideas? Does anyone have plans for a self built console? Plans for a dual console? I'm planning to more or less ditch the classic bass boat design for a more functional fish and ski type design.

I look forward to seeing what all can be done!

Have you seen oops! hull extension thread? Not really a "console" but he does some pretty cool stuff with the dash in that sea ray, may be some ideas there for ya. 'course, if ya spend too much time in his thread you're liable to wind up with a much larger project than you have now! He's pretty 'motivating'!

I haven't seen that. I'm gonna have to check that out! This is already more of a restoration than I bargained for so why not?? :)
