Console Tach to 82 70 hp Sea Horse

I mistakenly had a local rip off boat yard (never again) replace the remote throttle control on my 1982 StarCraft. The rip off was that I requested a throttle assembly as or similar to installed but received a throttle with an integral tilt button. I have a separate tilt switch on the console which they should have caught. The yard also made sure that I paid for a different wire harness due to the difference in pin out.

The question here is: the tach no longer works and not wanting to go back to that dump, where does the tach connect up to the motor? The motor is a 1982 70hp Sea Horse.

Find your rectifier on the starboad side. There will be 2 yellow wires connected to it and on one of the yellow wires will be a gray wire. This is your tach lead.
