Hey all, been around for a while here and this year I got rid of my I/O and went back to a trusty outboard. Went to start up the engine today and after figuring out that i had a bad primer bulb it seems to run good, however whenever I turn the key on I get a constant beep like an overheat. Unplug the temp sensor and it still has the constant beep, unplug the tan wire from the vro tank inside of the engine cowling and the beep goes away. Anyone ever experienced something like this? I mixed a 5 gallon tank of 50:1 to run in it till I can verify that the vro is pumping oil. And the water coming out of the motor is warmish. Thanks

Either there's no oil in the oil tank or you have a bad sender in the oil tank.

Well the tank is full so I'll look into the sending unit in the tank. I have a factory manual so I'll look into that tomorrow. Thanks

OMC did have some bad oil tank senders back in those years. All you can do is replace it.

Make sure it's not overheating -- top of head too hot to touch?

The alarm stays on from the time the key is turned on..Not overheating, peeing plenty of water and the water coming out of the lower is warmish so I know it's circulating
