Constant warning alarm HELP!

I have a 1999 150 Ocean Pro. The warning alarm comes on as soon as I turn the key and stays on. I have disconnected the vacum switch, both heat sensors and the VRO warning wires in an attempt to find which is faulty. I have searched this forum and found numerous post and usually disconnecting the above mentioned switches will isolate the problem. I also have a 4 light systems check gage and it shows no problems at start up or while running. I'm beginning to believe that there is a short in the wiring harness. Anyone got any ideas.

Thanks

Did you disconnect those wires at the engine or at the console? Either way, reconnect them, then disconnect them at the other location, one at a time. Your problem sounds like some sort of defect in the wiring. Once you figure out which wire is at fault, you can easily bypass it.

Re: Constant warning alarm HELP!

I have diconnected them one at a time at the motor and the alarm still sounds all the time. The only way to make it stop is to start unhooking plugs in the wiring harness at the motor. This also kills power to the key switch, so I don't know if I'm just killing power to the alarm.
