continuous beeping late 80s/early 90s 70hp VRO - stalls in idle

when i start my evinrude it will only run using the coldstart injectors (bumping the key in ) there is a constant beeping coming from the controls, the oil tank sensor is discontected, would this be a fuel resctriction warning? (engine dies after gas form cold start injectors used up) i clean the carb and when i took them off the middle one was FULL off oil....going to put them on today but was thinking it could be a bad fuel pump aswell? any help would be gretaly appriated

More info necessary. Is it a winterized motor you just woke up and was it running last fall? Premix fuel or VRO oil mixing?
No fuel restriction warning on that motor.

just bought the engine, dont think it it was winterized, VRO mixing.. the oil sensor has been unplugged since when i got it, when i went to conect it, i noticed the plug is different on the engine then the one on the tank

Did the seller show you the engine running, or do we have to start from the very very very beginning?

He did have it running, it was a very quick sale tho ( i thought i was getting a great deal and there were other people showing up) i dont think the warning was going off either...the only diffrernce is i have a differnt fuel tank on the boat, but it is getting fuel(im able to keep the boat running with the coldstart injector forever)

Do you run the engine in the water or in a barrel or on the hose? On the hose the idle rpm should be rather high, so it would idle even on two cylinders.

Did you fill up the fuel system with the primer bulb until getting hard prior to start? If you didin't, the VRO pump may have pumped oil only for a while.

Can you keep the motor running by constantly pressing the primer bulb? That would indicate a fuel pump issue.

Does the primer bulb go flat when the motor is running? That would indicate a fuel restriction problem between tank and motor.

I can't imagine a common cause of the constant beep and the engine not running. Does it beep even when the engine is cold and you turn the key?

if i just disconnect the oil hose to the engine would that be fine? and should the oil alarm be going off if the sensor isnt connected?
the primer ball doesnt go completely hard, i put new hose clamps on all the fittings and and i cant find any leak, i can only keep the engine running by bumping the key in (making the cold start injectors spit raw fuel in) the boat is running off muffs

beep, beep, beep, beep @rapid fire rising & falling with engine rpm?

beep............beep..........beep, every 30 seconds or so?

Run it on pre-mix until you get this sorted out.

beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep is the overheat alarm, is it pumping water?

You can leave the oil injection connected & still run it on pre-mix until you get it sorted.

thanks i will do that, just curious about the oil tank, there is the oil with ball going to the engine and a 2nd oil line thats capped, is that normal? im used to inboard/outboards

carb cleaning got the engine running great, the continuous beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepp wont stop, my tank sensor isnt plugged in, would that cause the alarm?
