Re: control alarm horn goes off when connecting battery
Did you disconnect wiring harness at VRO pump, and check wire that connected to remote oil tank, and cover/tape/cap. This leaves 3 sensors, 2 for overheat, 1 for fuel restriction, all have tan wires, disconnect one at the time, until all are disconnected, horn still blowing, check for short in control box ,and shorted horn. The 81 horn will not self test. You should check that you have 12 volts on purple wire at regulator. The 81 harness may not have that wire.
