control arm needs service

i have a control arm on my albemarle similar to one here

it is very stiff going in and out of gear. it is an old unit and i am not sure that last time it was serviced.

can these units be serviced? cleaned of possible corrosion and greased for smooth operation?
lets just assume that my issue lies in the control arm and not the shift cables. i am trying to learn more about maintaining this item. Thanks.

Ayuh,.... Other than squirtin' some spray grease in 'round it, there ain't much to do to it,......

The cable is a more likely suspect,.... Disconnect it, 'n see,....
