Give it some time seems kinda dead around here today. I don't know that control so can't tell you how to remove it mine had screws on the cover and a clip you might want to look for a clip or see if you can get behind it.

One of those is a link to the separate remote manual for the quicksilver remote. If you can't download there, you should be able to google one up for download and it will give you step-by-step dis-assembly instructions.

That said, I think you are describing a problem I had when trying to remove a quicksilver remote from a side panel of a rotten donor boat I acquired... You pop off the plastic cap towards the bottom of the handle and you will see a head bolt in there. Its torqued on there pretty strong. You may have to pry really hard with a socket, or get a torque wrench to get it off....

When I sold my merc set-up, I just gave the buyer the remote still attached to a portion of the rotted panel that I yanked out of the boat and said "sorry I couldn't get it off; good luck to you."

Hope you fair better...

Just tried the link and it works fine.

Underneath the merc controls newest manual.pdf on the left of the page, you will see Download. Click on it and when the window opens, select Free Download under Waiting time 0 Seconds and it will download it to your computer.
If you still can't get it, send me a PM with your email address.

I believe it tilts the motor all the way up when you are ready to unload or pull out of the ramp
