I have a '92 30hp Evinrude with a remote start. The control box and cables came with the motor. I'm going to look at a 1990s vintage 40hp Evinrude that supposed to be electric start, but no cables come with the motor. How interchangeable are the Evinrude controls? Should I expect the round plug from my 30hp control cable connector to fit the 40hp motor? Any tips to ensure compatibility? Count the pins?
