Re: control box questions

ok so the plug with the red green and blue wires would have gone to your wires from the motor for the TNT unit. so they need to be taped off and kept out of the way..put some grease on the contacts so they dont corrode.

the big red plug is to your motor.

the black knob is to put more or less friction on the throttle handle

the plug near the black KNOB is for accessories..

the acesories could be a few things but they go to the dash usually, and to guages

..the purple wire will be your power to your gauges once you turn the key on..

there is a grey wire, that is a tach lead

there is a black wire, thats a ground to the gauges.

Hey ohfishcat, I was drawing some notes on your photos, and I come back and see that bob had already given you the scoop. I'll put them up anyway. Hope it helps.

You're missing 2 wires on that plug that has the purple wire coming out. That's a female plug, and you can remove it from the remote. If you want your tach and other accessories to work, you'll have to add the grey and black wires to that plug.

purple = switched 12v when key is in the on and start position
grey = tach sensor
black = ground

here's a diagram of the remote wiring

yeah its obvious who ever used that control before you didnt use a tach. they probably just had running lights and they used the purple wire only, so the power they were getting ( for what ever accessoried they had)only came on when the key was turned on... they might have picked their ground up someplace else

Re: control box questions

Thanks to all for this thread. I was getting ready to ask the same thing and I got lucky on a search term. Steve
