Engine: 1981 70HP

I was out cleaning up the boat, pulling out old wiring, installing new batter cables, etc..

I noticed on the control box there are three wires coming out of it along with the throttle, shifter and main harness. Purple, grey and black.

What are they and why would someone cut them off at the box?

The electric choke, ignition, overheat alarm all work well, I don't know what the other three wires are though...

Thanks!

Kevin

Re: Control Box Wires Question

I don't have a schematic for an 81 but I would guess they are your tach leads. Black is ground, purple 12v and gray the sensor lead.
