I have a 704 dual control and need to replace all four cables. Not sure how to open the control "box" up to disconnect old/reconnect new cables to the controller. Any pointers or tips would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: Control cable replacement

I've removed the top plastic trim, the four mounting nuts (to the console) and the bolt at the bottom of metal casing. I've tried to separate the casing but no luck. Anything I'm missing? I don't want to try and pry the casing apart and break it.

Thanks

Re: Control cable replacement

There are three screws holding both halves together. Close to the levers there is one phillips screw on each side. Each one screws on the opposite side assembly. There is a third screw right in the middle of the assembly that ties both halves in the rear and screws in a nut on the other side. Be careful not to loose it. Once unscrewed, you should be able to separate both halves. There are two black covers that you have to remove to access the cables inside.

Good luck.
