Control Cables - 1975 Evinrude

I was looking into ordering new throtle cables (TeleFlex) from BassPro Shops for my 1975 Evinrude 85HP motor. The cables they show say 1979-present - but they look like what I need.<br /><br />Will these cables work with my motor? Can't remember motor Model off the top of my head, but motor does NOT have power T/T. Thanks<br />AP

Hi AP,<br /> The '79 onwards cables have modular ends that snap into the control box. The older style cables need to reuse your existing cable ends, held on with set-screws.<br />- Scott

Check out www.coastalmarineonline.com for pre 1979 OMC cables. If you are using the stock control box, these are the ticket. I ordered a set of 14' for my '76 and it cost about $15 per cable. Better than $50 a cable at West Marine.
