I was installing new control cables last night and I dropped the little brass barrel on the control box side of the cable connector. Its one of the old style ones for type 400 cables. Any one have a part number for that because I'm pretty sure I'll never find it. I couldn't find it.

Thanks
Joe

Re: Control connector question

Look to part number 385959 reference item number 91 in the BRP website. They are still available at a cost of $25.00 for a pair.

Called Clamp and Screw Assembly. If that's not it LMK!

I cant believe it but I found the little brass barrel on the floor. I looked it up though and that is the part. Thanks for the info! I'm going to keep that because I'll loose the parts again.

Re: Control connector question

In a crack in the garage floor. I was feeling semi desperate so I took the shop vac to the floor cracks and sifted through what it picked up.

Well again you are very foretuneate to locate it.

Hopefully you have better luck with your cables than the ones I was trying to assist yesterday. Not a difficult job once you look at how it all goes together,

Have one here now I'm reassembling, Still looking for parts for it. But for $10.00 I couldn't pass it up.

Re: Control connector question

Well mine are the dual lever controls so it was pretty straightforward once I cleaned off the 40 year old dried grease. At least I think its right :)

Re: Control connector question

Sorry crashed out last night from my back meds.

Yes those two level control units are the simplest to work on, very straight forward. Next comes the 1st generation single lever which has 3 screws on thw lower half. Remove those and the cablea are right there and they attach the same way. The 3rd generation control is the Biggest PITA I've worked on yet. The whole case needs to be split. The cables are not easy to reach/service.

But I'm still happy to hear that you were able to find that dropped part! Next time work on a bench onver a big ol cake pan.

Naw, Hydrocodone, Diazepam and vicadine are more than enough.

MRI today showed 2 ruptured disc, a cyst and an aneurysm in the lower spine. No wonder I can't walk or stand up! Beers may end up being cheaper,
