My control shifter is stuck in the neutral position and will not move in reverse or forward. Any suggestions on what is wrong and how to fix it?

Re: Control Shifter Stuck

try finding the tension screw that is located usually in front or behind the shifter lever. it may be too tight...thus, your shifter is stuck. you also might want to try pushing in the buttong that allows you to ****f from neutral to forward or reverse. i dont know how long you have boated though, so sorry if you already knew this;)

Re: Control Shifter Stuck

SeaBass.... You don't say what kind of control you have, but if it is one of the older white OMC boxes, there is a shift lever inside the box that has a rather large portion of it being what appears to be white nylon (some such substance). This lever has a few teeth on that nylon portion which are rather sharp edged. The tip of the teeth break (almost impossible to see the break at times), and the unit jams solid. The replacement part has been improved.

Joe, I have that exact same control that you are talking about. Thanks for the advise.
