I have a 73 Johnson 135 no power trim . Control has toggle switch for choke . And no trim button . My boat came with another control that has power trim button and choke is in ignition switch by pushing it in . Has all cables and red plug which my motor has. Will that control work ? Will choke still work properly ? Also there is small connected below key switch , 3 prong is that for tach to plug in . Thanks

Re: Control swap

You will have to keep one thing in mind. OMC changed the throttle/shift cables in 1979. The cable ends are different from up thru 1978 and 1979 and after. While the main electrical plug should be ok, the cables may be an issue.

Re: Control swap

The cable ends are same . I checked that . Is there a special pigtail end that goes on to tach plug then?
