controls compatable?

I have a j90tlcur johnson motor and a 70el78c motor. Can I use the controls from the 70el78c set up for the j90tlcur?

If the colors on the harness plugs are the same you should have no problem. Red motor side plug goes with red control harness plug. Black goes with black. Depends on what you have. If the plug colors are not the same you would have to butcher your harness to make it work.

Yes. The red plug harness all plug into each other up through the 1995 model year. The only difference will be that the 78 control box does not have the emergency lanyard feature.
