Will the controls from a 1973 50hp Evinrude non tilt/trim work on a 1978 70hp Evinrude non tilt/trim?

Controls with the big red plug will work on motors with the big red plug.-----------1973 to 1995 models.

Are you talking about the throttle and gear control unit? If so, I would suspect it would.
