Hi - I'm one day away from ordering a set of manifolds and risers to convert from my 89 OMC batwing to Mercruiser manifolds.

The new manifold and riser are part number 4584797415 and 4584797499 (I can't figure out how to upload pics to this post).

...and here are the old ones (top picture):

http://www.marineparts.com/partspages/OMC/omc5.htm

Anyone see any reason as to why this wouldn't work or wouldn't work well? The exhaust port and stud pattern is the same.

Thanks

Re: Conversion From OMC to Mercruiser Manifolds

The issue is not the stud pattern but the distance and angle of the end of the riser from the Y pipe. There is a place in Washington State that is selling a ready made kit to do this, it is not cheap but has everything you need from what they told me.
www.sea-way.com
give them a call they know how to make this work.
