Convert Bayliner 2755 to open bow....

So I picked up this Bayliner 2755 project boat. Just finished rebuilding the 350 mercruiser and I'm looking at the front of this boat which is such a bloody waste of space. In fact, quite a few silly things going on with this boat... split windshield access to the front deck but no way of getting up over the dash without taking your life into your hands... kind of fixed that already with a ladder though. But anyway, the deck is such a terrible waste of space so I was looking at one of 2 ideas...
Now that I have installed a ladder I can do some seating on the top of the bow deck (the railing will have to be re-jigged a bit for safety), or.... just open the bow completely with opne seating like a bowrider with a bulkhead (with door) separating the bow from the cabin area just after the kitchen counter and diner seats.

The question I guess... is there any structural value to the decking on the front of this boat that will get me into trouble if I just cut it out?

yes, the deck and cowl add a lot of structure.

BTW, with cuddy cabins, the intent is usually to go up thru the hatch to get to the bow

Yeah, I looked the hatch. I'm 60 now and climbing up through that thing all the time kind of looks a lot like work :)

So I'm probably better off doing seating of some kind on the top. It's such a waste of space inside though. There is a bed in the back already and the dining table converts to a bed if needed. I can't think of what we would ever use the seating INSIDE at the front
