Convert Merc 9.9 to bigfoot?

Hypothetically speaking...

Say you had a standard Merc 9.9 4 stroke and a 9.9 bigfoot with a blown motor.

Would it be possible to swap the legs to make the standard 9.9 a bigfoot model? I am quessing that the only difference between the two is in the leg/gearing/prop.

Perhaps a better question is (if possible) how big of a pain would it be to do it?

There are at less 2 differant cc powerheads but if the powerheads were the same cc they should interchange

Well the bigfoot would be a 1999 model and the standard is a 2005.

*I have also heard that current 4 strokes use either a Yamaha or Nissan powerhead???
