I am thinking about cutting the roof of my cuddy cabbin in such a way as to have it be a removable "hard top" like on a jeep... Has anyone done this? This way you would have the best of bost worlds; bowrider and cuddy.

I have thought of the same thing. Anything is possible...just make sure that you create the structure needed to support weight on top as well as hold hull shape and strength when in "bowrider" mode.

Now I went 1 step further....use the cuddy roof as a T-top when you go bowrider mode. (Need a place to put it ..right?)

-JustMrWill

So you did it!? mind if I see some pics or can you elaborate on the design scheme? as for support, the "ceiling" of the cuddy cabin isn't that structure minded except for support weight not holding the boat together. The "T Top" thing is exactly what I had in mind too. with a rubber flange that rides all around the edge that the top snaps into with maybe 8-16 quick release canti-locks (similar to flat deadbolts) is what I was thinking.. I'd sure like to see one though and know what I am up against...

No..just thought of it...sorry if I was unclear...

I was thinking of a collapsable aluminum frame to support hardtop..but I don't have any designs drawn out yet.

Keep me posted if you choose to do this.

-JustMrWill
