I have recently picked up a 69 GW Invader with what i believe to be a 69 Mercury 500 50hp manual start. I am wondering how much effort it would take to convert this over to electric start and get a charging system.
I was looking at the starter setup on my dads similiar year 35 hp and it looks like the starter and solenoid assembly will bolt right in so i don't see that being to difficult. Couple bolts and a couple wires.
On the other hand to get charging to i just need to get a rectifier and mount/wire. Or is there a lot more to this.
I am VERY new to outboards so any and all help is very appreciated.
