Converting a 1999 Force 40hp to a 50hp

I have seen a few messages where people were in the process of converting their 40hp to a 50hp by changing out the carb, but I couldn't find any follow up posts if it worked or not.

I have a 99 40 that I would like to bring up to a 50hp if this is all that needs to be done. Any suggestions or experience with this????

If it is the same as earlier Force engines, While the block looks exactly the same, the bore and stroke are different. Changing the carb will not significantly increase horsepower.

It's like a small block Chevy: Same block was bored and stroked from 283 to 305, to 350 or like the Chrysler 318, 340, 360. Same block, different bore, different heads.
