Converting Bravo III's over to thru Hull water intake

What to do with the hose through the transom? Ive read that the drive still needs the water for cooling but, how do I obtain? remove hose from helmet and block off inside boat?

Need to remove the hose and install block off plate. Then cut hose per the manual below. The water will continue to run through

So essentially, Since I have removed the water hose completely for cleaning and inspection of all pieces, simply, "not replacing it" serves the same purpose.
As well as adding the block off plate, of course.
