I have a 1975 18' aluminum Starcraft deep Water. I wanted to cut open the closed bow and convert it to a open bow, Has anybody done this? Is it possible? Any problems I might encounter?<br /><br />Thanks : Jamie
Have you tried contacting Starcraft? I would think it would depend on the design of the boat and if the closed bow is part of the structural strength of the hull it is best to leave it as is. These are my thoughts only as I have no experience with this.
i was going to do that to a boat i have to make it better for fishing.i asked a guy that does hull repairing about it and he said no way.said the sides would be floppy.the strenght of the hull is designed into the type of boat it is.that was my experience anyway.hth

The hull is very strong and the boat performs well.<br /><br />He is a member of the Starcraft yahoo group that I started.
