Converting Johnson VRO2 Pump

I was wondering if I can use pump #438559 conventional fuel pump on my 1987 Johnson 40hp vro? The VRO I currently have on it has a HUGE crack on the housing ans I dont want to spend the $300 for a new one. Don't even know how the crack got there. The non vro pump the motor calls for bolts to the engine block and has two inlets for fuel lines. My motor has 5/16 fuel line comming off of the block with a flame arrestor so I just want to use a 3 inlet pump like #438559. Will this pump work for pre-mixing?????

Not sure if this cover will fit on your vro pump.But if not you might want to watch ebay.I've seen covers on their quite a bit.
