A non boating friend of mine bought what he thought was a "turn key" rig with a 14' Jon boat and 25 Evinrude- after finding the lower was junk due to running without oil and the steering was locked up, I talked him into ripping out the home made (road signs!) aluminum console in front of the rear seat with the hacked, seized Mercury "ride guide" steering system from some old boat, and putting in stick steering from the center seat.
I did a quick search and could not find anything definite on it- how and where do you measure for installation of stick steering? Want to get the correct length cable the first time.
I will post pics when I upload them, should be a sweet rig when it's done.
