bought a new single binnacle universal throttle. my cable ends at the console look like the attached picture. one is basically bare wire. the other has the old coupler from a very old evinrude shifter.

Question - i'd like to reuse these cables with my new universal throttle. it needs the threaded teleflex style ends. can i convert these cables and if so with what parts?

Thanks. Kevin

What motor? Both Mercury and Johnson/Evinrude used (at one time), cable ends that clamped onto bare inner cables. Not sure if you can buy them separately.

Mercury had square heads on the cable clamps in the cable ends. J/E had slotted screws in the cable clamps.

Remember, Merc pushes the throttle closed. J/E pushes the throttle open.
