Just checking to see if there are any cool boat shops in the Tampa/Orlando area.

I wouldn't mind looking around for some boat parts, dash pieces, guages, and other assorted odds and ends to held in my restoration.

Well, your signature says Canada. But, the one good place I know of is in St. Pete, it is called Don's Marine Salvage(?). It is off of 49th St in Pinellas Park actually.

I may go say hi to Joe as the wife will be thinking I'm looking for boat parts. It may take all day to check out those racks...of parts. :)

I'll definately check out the marine salvage shop as that is exactly the cool stuff I was looking for. I'll be in the St Pete's area for 2 weeks with another week or so more in the Orlando area starting tomorrow. I'm at the airport now...

Don's Salvage is on 126th Ave, just off of 49th St, and there is another place just south of there directly on 49th St. I think it's called Van Wagoner's, or something like that. I don't know how 'user friendly' it is.

You guys rock...those shops will keep me busy for a while.

Some places are more "all business" than others and want a part #, etc. I like the salvage shop to see if I can find anything cool to ship home.

Lots of boats out here though. I hope I don't find something else as these boat restorations are addicting.

That's what I was looking for originally but settled on the Holiday...

I would be tempted to buy it and have a friend drive it down :)

My perfect compromise would be the 22' ft Super Sport as I could get more funky with the seating with the extra room.

I am also slowly hunting for a 22' supersport as a second boat to my Jupiter . Best of both worlds big barge for familly and freinds and the little 16'er for just SWMBO and myself to cruise in :D.

Re: Cool boat shops in the Tampa/Orlando areas

So far I've picked up a new bilge pump, bilge pump switch, bilge hose, ss bolts and screws 328 pc, 4200 silicone, Attwood stern light and plug in light base, Johnny Ray accessories terminals, 2" Reese coupler and waterproof stereo housing. I also bought a 4 D cell Maglight flashlight and mount for the suv and boat...both for lighting and for cracking heads in the event of an event :)

I picked all the stuff up at a combination of Basspro and Walmart for now. I'm going to check out Boaters World and Fore and Aft marine in Maderia Beach for other odds and ends.

I may also pickup the Moeller gas tank installation kit as well as anything else I can get back in luggage. Apparently I can get a Moeller 19 gal tank for 118 bucks in the BassPro catalog...at least 50 bucks cheaper than I've found most places.

I'll also order other odds and ends from iboats to suppost the forum.
