I was looking over my coolant hoses on my 1993 5.7, mercruiser and noticed the one coming from the thermostat housing to the bottom of the port side exhaust manifoild had a pretty good size bulge in it near where it attaches to the exhaust manifold. Can I simply replace that with a 1.25" automotive coolant hose or is the something special about a marine grade coolant hose?

Re: coolant hoses

You can get away with generic automotive hoses on the upper hose that leads to the elbow. The lower hoses need to be the specific part (OEM or aftermarket), as Bond-o indicated.
