Hi, first timer here. working on a 1975 Seahorse, 25hp. had not been ran in 7 years. bought a manual, tuned her up and she sounds beautiful, ran it with a flusher attached and didnt see water coming from expected holes. i shut it down, pulled the gearcase, impeller is new. How should i check the lines for blockage and should there be water exiting from holes on back of leg half way up. Also what should i use for gasket on install of pump housing to plate.
Thanks
eager boater.

What kind of flushing attachment were you using? Muff's won't work on this engine.

i picked up a 917tfa, it basicly a taco shell shaped piece of metal that fits over the intake screen just above the prop. It doesnt fit very well so i made some minor adjustments to it. there is lots of water being pushed through the holes on the gearcase. but nothing from the two that are up on the leg.
thanks for reply. :)

Just for grins, put a big trash can under the motor while it's on the boat and fill it with water over the level where the water pump is. I usually go a couple of inches above that point.

Fire up. You should see some water come out of those holes pretty quick, once the water passages are full. If so, then your flusher device is not so good.
