1. You say the warning buzzer is on all the time. If it's on steady when the engine is cold, something's wrong with the sender or the alarm circuit. It could even be the oil alert module. If it's beeping, it's the oil alert warning.

2. A water pressure gauge would be very helpful. If there's very low or no pressure at idle, it usually means the poppit valve is faulty.

The Poppit is on the starboard side, just above the adapter plate.

Get a maintainance manual. It's priceless when yer working on the motor.

hope it helps

All the water out of the telltale has gone through the thermostat. If it idles below 140 degrees with just the open bypass passages, then there won't be any.

Fast idle it and check the temp of the telltale. It should be about 140 degrees, which is uncomfortably warm. If it's too hot, you may need thermostats.

Also, you should be able to lay your hand on each head for a second or so. If one is too hot or cold, you may have a problem.

Don't remove the thermostats as some suggest. You could cold-seize the engine.

hope it helps
