Re: cooling problem
Iceman....where ya' need to check is the flat place on top and just forward of the head. If you can leave your fingers on there, with the engine warmed up, for several seconds, the engine temp should be OK.

The pee stream shouldn't get warm. This is direct from the water pump where it enters the exhaust cover.

Is all connectors associated with the VRO disconnected? There should be what looks like a black light cord from the VRO oil tank that should be disconnected and a Amphenol connector from the VRO pump that should be disconnected. If so....read on.

If the overheat horn is still sounding, look on the head for the temp sensor wire...a tan with a blue stripe wire. There will be a rubber tube covering the knife connector. Pull back the tube and disconnect the knife connector. Turn the key on.

If the horn still sounds with the knife connector disconnected, the horn module is probably at fault. They do go bad. Or, you have a short somewhere in the wire going to the horn. I would bet on the module being bad.

If the horn stops sounding with the knife connector disconnected, the temp sensor is probably bad. Replace it.

Keep us posted as to what ya' find. If you have anymore questions, don't hesitate to ask. Thanks.
